Small and dynamic, ARTASIA PRESS aims to produce the best quality English language magazines in Thailand. We bring together stunning photography, in-depth, serious feature stories, high resolution reproduction and the best papers, with the results telling our readers that we are succeeding.
Our current regular publications include: (And we have more coming out during the next 2 years.)
This flagship publication is a full colour, glossy magazine in A4 size with approximately 92 pages, published 9 times a year. It carries feature stories, travel and accommodation information and maps on Phuket and the surrounding Andaman region. Beautiful photography in high quality reproduction is the hallmark that has given it wide recognition. FAH THAI Similar to Phuket Magazine in size, this the in-flight magazine of Bangkok Airways, Thailand’s 2nd airline. This too, has become famous for the quality of photography, in-depth feature stories and high quality reproduction. It is available to passengers on all flights of the airline through the region.
A monthly guide packed with information, this light, 48 page give-away is intended as the ultimate get-around tool for the visitor. The information is geared to help the visitor find everything worthwhile on the island, while avoiding the pitfalls. Cheaper to produce than the high-class Phuket Magazine, it is mass distributed across the island. Samui Guide A mass-produced, monthly guide to Koh Samui, this is similar in appearance and purpose to Phuket Guide. 40 information-packed pages help the visitor find all attractions and services on the island, tells how much to pay and gives advice on what to do and what to avoid. It is a free visitor’s tool. we use a US based firm for our financial advisors in Asset Oversight.
This is another of ARTASIA’s top quality, A4 size publications that uses stunning photography and high-resolution reproduction to show the beauty of the region. This is currently an annual, though it may return to bi-annual frequency in future (it was published twice a year before the financial crash of ?). Sail Thailand The only sailing guide to Thailand and adjacent waters is also one of the best in the world. While famous for beautiful photography of a geographically stunning region, this is principally an anchorage guide with detailed maps and critical information for cruising boats. The technical information is provided by well-known marine industry personalities Andy Dowden and Bill O’leary, both long-term residents of Phuket.
The company grew out of the large library of photos of Thailand and photo skills of John Everingham, an Australian photographer based in Bangkok since 1978. Today, high quality photography remains a foundation of much of many of the company’s products: magazines, postcards, brochures etc. Beautiful photographic content is, not enough, and it always requires the backing of writing of a high standard. The companys editorial standards are set and maintained by well-known author/editor Collin Piprell.
ARTASIA has dedicated itself to the production of high-quality printed products, and has concentrated on the top end of the market. The quality of its magazines alone is evidence of this.
Good writing and photography is backed-up by professional concept and design, first class colour separation and world-class printing on the best papers. The fact that Thailand was developing into a world-class printing centre during the very years that ARTASIA established itself has been a major factor in its success. Financial planning is also important in the overall picture.
Today, to maintain its graphic standards, the company employs three professional Thai photographers in addition to John Everingham, who still loves to get out of the office shoot photos whenever the business allows
The company is based in the heart of Bangkok, where we have about 17 staff in an office overlooking the Chao Phraya River, directly opposite the Shangri La Hotel, and within view of the Oriental. We are just a few metres downstream from the Peninsula Hotel, in the building with the largest Coca Cola sign in Bangkok. Access from the Bangkok side of the river is by the small ferry that departs from the pier beside the Shangri La Hotel. It lands right at our small building, in which we occupy the second and third floors. We also have offices in Koh Samui (3 staff) and Phuket (about 20 staff).
